Woo hoo! Kindergarten RESULTS was a success! Today we talked about the importance of being gentle when using the iPad, as well as some of the names for the parts of the iPad (power, volume, "home" button", asleep, awake, apps, etc.) and then the kids had some exploration time! We worked on the following apps: Letter Writing/Tracing: Little Writer Ollie's Handwriting and Phonics Letter School iWriteWords Letter Quiz Sight Words: Eggy 100 HD ("Eggy Words") Sight Words Learning Games Basic Math/Counting: Math is Fun! Ages 4-5 Counting is Fun! Endless Numbers Sorting: Sort it Out 1 Sort it Out 2 Check out these videos!

We practiced more skills on the iPad today! Some of the apps that the kids worked on are: Inventioneers, Letter Quiz, and Undersea Math (all *free*). The Kindergarteners are really loving the Inventioneers app (which I thought would be very challenging, but the kiddos are giving it a shot!). I enjoy watching kids ask for help... usually from other students, and students so eager to help each other. Some of these apps are puzzles and involve problem solving, and it is nice to see Kinder students working hard to figure out the solution to a problem, or puzzle.
