3rd GradeToday was my first day with 3rd graders, so we learned all about Stop Motion Animation by watching the Prezi I made. They will be planning their own film next time! 6th GradeSince many of the 6th graders planned their Stop Motion Math videos last week, we started to film! We even had a few groups finish their animations! I was AMAZED at what they came up with in such a short amount of time! I won't post them yet - since we are going to put them into iMovie and add sound effects, music, and voice over... but here are some photos of students working on their projects, and a short video clip! Enjoy! Here is a sneak peek of some 6th grade filmers in action! Stay tuned for the finished products! I'm excited!

They all learned podcasts, and we even listened to a few examples, like: History Goes Bump Podcast, Current Events with an 8 Year Old, and The News to Amuse. We learned that podcasts can serve many different purposes: mostly to inform, to entertain, and to persuade. I then showed them the GarageBand app, and we learned about recording our voices. We completed a reading of a Spring Poem as our very first podcast. The students really love hearing their voices, as well as their classmates! They will be working on their own podcast during the next few weeks. Here are our Spring Poem Podcasts. Just press the 'play' button and make sure your volume is turned up! Enjoy!
I worked with the fabulous 3rd and 5th grade classes today! It was their turn to create their Word Clouds! Students wrote a short narrative about the activities and things they love. After typing their narrative into the app, they students created their Word Clouds, and sent the picture to me via Air Drop! Check out their Word Cloud creations below! Enjoy! We filmed this for our Holiday Sing-Along. Hope you enjoy it! I was invited into the 3rd grade classes today (Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. Aring, and Mr. Arizpe) to work on iMovie! All of the 3rd graders took a walking field trip to Rice Canyon this week and recorded their observations of the native resources on the iPad! They were busy learning about the plants and animals in the area, and how the Kumeyaay would've used those resources to survive in the area. The students took pictures, video, and recorded their notes onto the iPad Notes. There were some great photos! The students started compiling their information onto an iMovie. I am so excited to see some finished products! I was very proud of all the hard work they were doing! Today, the 3rd and 4th graders got a chance to work with Word Clouds!
